The Jozsef Attila Study and Information Centre (JATIK or just TIK), is run by
the University of Szeged as a department of educational and cultural facility,
conference center. It is the main library building for the Szeged University
which is its primary function. It has a collection of nearly two million volumes.
It has a 1,000 seat reading room which is the largest in the South Plains region.
The institution was establised by the University of Szeged and City of Szeged,
and yearly close to 200 business, cultural and scientific events are kept here.
At the same time, more than 1,300 people can use the functionalites provided
by the building. In addition to library services, lecture rooms and computer
cabinets also were set up in the building. The building floor area is
approximately 10,000 m². During the operation of the Congress Center,
a variety of measures have been put in place, which allow the complex
to be run safely, in an environment friendly way.
